How much is the Wear & Carry Class?
It's $320, CASH only for initial applicants.  Renewals are $180.

Does the $320 cover both 8 hour days?
YES!  The $320 covers BOTH days.  

Can I pay an extra fee to get it done in one day?
NO!!  Do NOT even ask!! Class it TWO FULL days! 16 HOURS

Can I pay an extra fee and just have the instructor sign off without taking the full class?
NO!  There is NO expedited way around it.  You will spend SIXTEEN HOURS with US, period!

Will I be fingerprinted (MD Live Scan) in class? 
YES!  We will have a fingerprint tech on site.  Please bring $60 with you the day of class to cover that cost.

How many rounds of ammo will I need?
100 Rounds are needed for day TWO.    You may not fire 100 rounds BUT we want you to have them in case you need extra practice or additional help during the live fire component.

When is my payment due?
Payments are due TEN days BEFORE the class date!  Example: If your class is September 10th, payment is due by end of business on September 1st.  If payment is not received and you have not made arrangements with us, you could potentially lose your spot.

How long will it take to get my permit once I apply?
Maryland State Police have 90 days to issue or deny a permit.  However, it has not been taking the full 90 days.

What do I need to bring to class?
Day ONE: Bring yourself, your state issued driver's license/ID Card, note taking materials, drinks (non alcoholic) and snacks if you wish.  NO GUNS in the classroom on day ONE.

Day TWO:  You will need to bring the following:
1. Handgun
2. At least TWO magazines for your handgun
3. 100 Rounds of ammo (You probably won't use all 100 rounds of ammo but we        would like you to have it in case you need extra practice or help before you qualify.) 
4. Eye & Ear Protection (Mandatory)
5. Baseball style cap (Mandatory or you do not shoot!)
6. Holster, NO JUNK & NO Blackhawk Serpa Holsters! Holster MUST be used with a GOOD belt that can keep your holster in place.

***No sandals, flip flops, Crocs, open toe shoes or high heels***
***No shorts! 
***Absolutely NO smoking, vaping or tobacco chewing once we arrive at the range***

Please feel free to bring snacks and drinks (NON ALCOHOLIC) as it will be a long day!

If I don't own a firearm yet, can I still take the class?
Absolutely!  Just let us know when you come in to make your payment and we will make arrangements for you. If you are using our training guns you must use our ammo as well (Additional fees apply for the ammo)

Do other states extend reciprocity to the MD Carry Permit?
While there are no formal reciprocity agreements in place between MD and other states, there are many states that will "recognize" the MD permit.  MD does NOT accept ANY other concealed carry permits!  You MUST have a MD permit to carry in MD!

Can a MD resident obtain other non-resident permits such as Florida, Utah & Arizona? 
YES!  MD residents can obtain these other permits and Capstone is certified to teach those courses!!  Ask us about adding on a Multi State Permit when we do your qualification!

Is anyone exempt from the Wear & Carry Training?
Yes!  If you are a current police officer, retired police officer, active military or former military in good standing, you are exempt.  Click the link below which will take you to the Maryland State Police website and that will give you all the information you need if you are or think you may be exempt.
